Now & Then: A Modern Historic View
Artwork by Greg Schurman displayed next to a Victorian era dress form from the DMAS Collection
This new exhibit explores a retrospective experimental photographic journey, presented through photographic artwork featuring historical items from the Delta Museum and Archives Society’s collections.
Working collaboratively with the Delta Museum, local photographers, Rick Pelletier, Laurie Laing, Ronan Considine, Greg Schurman, Adina Shore, Tyler Garnham and Ali Roddam, produced seven unique contemporary artworks representing history from a modern perspective. The seven photographers came together to collaborate on a shared love of history while staying true to their unique style. Each was invited to take items from the museum collection and imagine them in a modern context. Like visiting a foreign country, history can be presented to create a present reality. Feelings are triggered by connections. Visit the Museum exhibit for an opportunity to connect to the diversity of Delta’s cultural history through engaging and thought-provoking photographic imagery.
Showing October 10, 2013 – January 31, 2014 at the Delta Museum
